Concept

Imprinting a symbol of young love into the shapes of dreams.

About

The production of this piece focused on formal qualities, with a design based on digitally rendered 3D objects. To achieve a confusing sense of depth and dimensionality, the objects were painted in flat colors with subtle fades, creating the illusion of false shadows.

A clear coat was applied, allowing the forms to shift and blur under light, challenging the viewer's perception of their boundaries.

The shapes themselves were designed to evoke thoughts and fantasies, taking on a physical presence that brings the intangible into the realm of the tangible.

The undulating form is topped with a layer of concrete, serving as a grounding force that anchors these otherwise ephemeral and dreamlike fantasies in the physical space.

To reinforce this idea, two sets of initials are inscribed into the wet concrete, recalling the informal, spontaneous gestures of sidewalk drawings found in American cities.

This gesture adds a sense of intimacy and human touch to the piece, underscoring the connection between the fantasies and the physical world as much as the one between "KH" and "DC".
