About
In 2007, I was still trying to figure out if I had talent, or at least if I had more talent than the others around me. So, I focused on something hard for others to access and was physically taxing to do: glass-blowing.
Through multiple bouts of dehydration and an internship with an incredibly talented glass blower, Kiara Pelissier, I discovered that I don’t have what it takes to make a career out of the art form.
During my trial period, I attempted to perfect the shape shown. At two and a half feet tall, the vessels sufficiently challenged me and continued to beckon me back to the furnace.
I've included this work here because I’m still proud of the 30 or so versions of it I made. The finished works sit in the different homes of people I love.
From time to time, when I’ve had too much wine, I attempt to clean them against the will of their owners.
